WE ARE, Amy Lilley and Lucy Norton, are two young producers committed to improving Wakefield’s cultural landscape with collaborative projects and events to increase audience engagement, as well as platform Wakefield’s emerging artists. WE ARE are currently contracted by The Art House in Wakefield to programme Artwalk Wakefield, a bi-monthly cultural late night.

Artwalk Wakefield is an established alternative night out in Wakefield. It takes place every two months, always on the last Wednesday of the month, starting from January each year. The event exists to showcase local, national and international talent in a whole range of settings.

The night offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into practising artists based in Wakefield and beyond. Event spaces range from traditional art gallery spaces, through to historic buildings, cafes, bars, retail outlets and more.

In 2019, Artwalk will present two extended events, creating hubs of activity for Index Wakefield:

  • 31st July – Index special event
  • 25th September – Index special event
